makan time

when i first met my husband's family, then he was my boyfriend, it was during hari raya. i had the first taste of the rendang killer. why i called it a killer. because of the cili padi! so freaking hot but so addictive. over the years, together with Aan, we've managed to cook them for our guests. a friend asked for the recipe. my apology if the recipe didnt turn out as expected, because when i am in the kitchen cooking a dish that is familiar to us, i do the 'campak' method-no measurement just based on experience and tastebuds.


Rendang Mentuaku

1kg daging
500ml – 1000ml santan pekat
1-2 batang serai (bahagian hijau) dititik
garam
(Bahan Kisar)
½-1 cawan cili padi
4 buku kunyit basah
3-5 batang serai (bahagian putih)

Panaskan santan, bahan kisar dan serai dititik.
Masukkan daging, biarkan mendidih, masukkan garam.
Masak dengan api sederhana.
Bila sudah mulai pekat, kacau supaya tidak melekat di kuali atau hangus.
Masak sehingga kering.
p.s: Daging boleh digantikan dengan ayam. Lebih santan lebih lemaknya.
